Iceland is the heartland of Vanessa Buhrig, a 30-year-old French photographer. Her photographs are part of the Pictorialist tradition in the sense that the image is treated as a vision, rather than as a testimony of reality. Vanessa Buhrig has made many trips to Iceland.

In her series "Geography of the Bodies", she echoes Walter Benjamin: "I travel to know my geography". A body, naked. She travels from within to outside. But once outside in these landscapes, it’s an inner journey that she takes. A photographic work of immense poetry.
